Description

Tenaska is advancing the Tri-State CCS Hub, a carbon sequestration hub. Tenaska is considering West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania as potential locations for sequestering the CO2. As of May 2024, the project is highly developed.

CO2 emissions from facilities in the three states would be captured and transported to geologically secure underground storage locations.

Tenaska’s base facility has 5 million metric tons per year of storage capacity, plus the necessary pipeline infrastructure to bring the emissions in.

The base facility design costs approximately $500m to build, with variations depending on the land position, site geology, and required pipeline miles.
