Description
New Fortress Energy Louisiana FLNG, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New Fortress Energy, is proposing to build an offshore facility to liquefy natural gas for markets worldwide.
The facility would include FLNG1 and FLNG2, each consisting of three connected platforms, as well as a Compression Rig and a floating storage unit.
Once operational, the facility would produce 2.8 million metric tons of LNG per year.
The Louisiana FLNG facility began permitting in March, 2022 under the Deepwater Port Act authorization for deepwater ports. As of April 2024, it was engaged with MARAD and USCG staff to progress its
application and was pursuing all other outstanding state and federal authorizations.
