OCI Global CEO Ahmed El-Hoshy has stepped down after four years in the role, according to a news release.
El-Hoshy will continue as the CEO of Fertiglobe on a full-time basis.
Hassan Badrawi, OCI’s current Chief Financial Officer will assume responsibility as Chief Executive Officer of OCI. Beshoy Guirguis, OCI’s current Vice President of Global Growth and Transformation, and Chief Financial Officer of OCI US Nitrogen will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer of OCI. All changes will become effective immediately.
Over the last year, El-Hoshy has played an integral role in the successful divestment of several business to strategic buyers to unlock significant value for shareholders. Previously, El-Hoshy led the growth of OCI’s US and European businesses, as well as being heavily involved in the creation and subsequent initial public offering of Fertiglobe in 2021. Since joining OCI in 2009, El-Hoshy has held several positions across the Group including Global Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer of OCI Americas, and Director of Business Development and Investments.
OCI announced today that its previously announced transaction to sell its stake in Fertiglobe to ADNOC has closed.
El-Hoshy has been CEO of Fertiglobe since 2021, playing a role in preparing Fertiglobe for its IPO, successfully navigating commodity market cycles, and leading Fertiglobe’s consolidation with ADNOC to create a global leader in low-carbon ammonia. Fertiglobe’s wider executive leadership remains in place, according to a separate news release.
