Exclusive: Clean energy developer selling solar project

A clean energy developer is selling a 573 MW solar project in West Texas. The firm is planning to use the proceeds to fund development capital needs for a wider spectrum of clean energy projects, including green hydrogen.

Clean energy developer Bair Energy is marketing for sale a 573 MW solar project in West Texas.

The process to sell the development, called Jenna Eco-Electric Solar, is being run internally, according to a source familiar.

The solar project was developed as a means of raising development capital for additional clean energy projects, such as green hydrogen. This is the first project in a 3 GW pipeline that the company plans to sell.

An application for a full interconnection study has been submitted with ERCOT, and is expected to be completed by 1Q25. Target COD for the project is May, 2027.

Bair Energy, which is part of the Clean Energy Holdings Renewable Energy and Technology Alliance, says that members of the alliance – such as ABB, Philadelphia Solar, and Gamechange Solar – are available to work on the project through execution.
