Hy Stor Energy terminates electrolyzer reservation agreement with Nel

The reservation agreement would have provided electrolyzers for Hy Stor's Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub.

Hy Stor Energy has terminated an electrolyzer capacity reservation agreement with Nel.

Nel and Hy Stor had signed a reservation agreement for more than 1 GW of alkaline electrolyzer equipment in April.

The reservation agreement would have provided electrolyzers for Hy Stor’s Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub.

In a previous press release, the companies said that the Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub project will be the largest zero-carbon, off-grid hydrogen production and salt cavern storage hub in the U.S.

Under a previously announced LoI, Hy Stor Energy had agreed to supply zero-carbon renewable hydrogen from the MCHH in a direct offtake partnership to support production of green steel in the U.S.
