Nonprofit launches hydrogen initiative in the Carolinas

The Green Hydrogen Coalition has launched HyBuild Carolinas to scale green hydrogen in North and South Carolina.

The Green Hydrogen Coalition (GHC) has launched HyBuild Carolinas, an initiative to scale green hydrogen in North and South Carolina, according to a press release.

This initiative will hold convenings and conduct analytical studies. It will co-develop a regional vision and roadmap for accelerating the role of green hydrogen in North and South Carolina’s environment and economy, the release states. .

GHC is an educational nonprofit dedicated to advancing the role of green hydrogen.

In the near-term HyBuild Carolinas will conduct analyses to understand green hydrogen demand and enable infrastructure scenarios to establish a vision for achieving mass-scale, low-cost green hydrogen in the Carolinas.

The work is supported by donations from Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, Siemens Energy, and Williams.

GHC launched a similar initiative in Southern California with Hybuild Los Angeles.
