Description
Alberta Carbon Grid’s first CCUS hub.
The ACG Industrial Heartland project was selected by the Government of Alberta to further evaluate the proposed location for safely storing carbon in March 2022. ACG secured the rights to evaluate over 900,000 hectares of land north of Fort Saskatchewan.
The project will be developed in phases with the potential capability of transporting and storing up to 10 million tonnes of CO2 annually when fully developed.
The Alberta Carbon Grid is a carbon transportation and sequestration solution being designed to be active across Alberta, in Canada. In the future, the project could include several ACG hubs throughout the province. The hubs would independently collect and store CO2 from customers across multiple industries.
ACG’s long-term goal is to transport and store up to 20 million tonnes of CO2 through several hubs across Alberta per year.
