Description
In May 2024, AltaGas detailed its plans for a green hydrogen production and storage facility at the site of a former aluminum smelter in Washington state.
The project could cost $850 million to $1 billion.
AltaGas was selected to receive funds as part of the $1bn DOE grant for a hub in the Pacific Northwest.
The facility would produce 100 metric tons of hydrogen per day from wind and solar energy.
