Description
The Athabasca Leismer CCS project plans to capture 440,000 tpa of CO2 in two phases. The CCS project is on a once-through steam generator (thermal oil operations).
The Athabasca Leismer project has received significant financial support from the Alberta government through Emission Reduction Alberta’s Carbon Kickstart Grant and is expected to be fully eligible for the federal CCS investment tax credit and carbon contract-for-differences structure, although the federal programs have not yet been substantially enacted.
