Description
BKV first CCUS project in the US.
The project reached a final investment decision with EnLink Midstream, LLC in 2022. BVK is targeting the first injection of CO2 by December 2023.
The project separates CO2 from substantially all of BVK’s EnLink-gathered natural gas production. In the Barnett Zero Project, EnLink will transport BVK’s natural gas produced in the Barnett to its natural gas processing plant in Bridgeport, Texas, where the CO2 waste stream will be captured, compressed and then sequestered via BVK’s nearby injection well.
The project is expected to achieve an average sequestration rate of up to approximately 185,000 metric tons of CO2e per year.
BKV is a subsidiary of Banpu, a large mining company based in Thailand.
