Description
Bear Head Energy is planning to develop, construct and operate a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production, storage and loading facility at the site of the previously approved Bear Head LNG export facility near Port Hawkesbury on the Strait of Canso on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
As part of the project’s phased development, Bear Head plans to partner with onshore and offshore renewable energy developers to build out a large-scale green hydrogen hub for Atlantic Canada.
Bear Head is owned by Buckeye Partners, which in turn is owned by IFM Global, an Australian pension fund.
According to regulatory filings, a final investment decision is expected by the end of 2024.
