Description

Captus Generation plans to repurpose Pincher Creek’s depleted natural gas field, in Alberta, Canada, to store the carbon emissions using captured from new gas-fired power generation facilities.

The site is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Pincher Creek. It has a natural gas supply and is connected to the grid via nearby high-voltage transmission lines. Carbon emissions captured during power generation will be stored underground in a reservoir beneath the development.

Initial plans include the construction of a 200 MW power plant with potential for expansion.

A final investment decision (FID) is expected in early 2025.
