Description

Cheniere Energy is developing the SPL Expansion Project, an expansion project adjacent to its existing Sabine Pass Liquefaction facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The project consists of two large-scale liquefaction trains, each with a nameplate capacity of approximately 7 mtpa and a maximum production capacity of approximately 8.43 mtpa, a boil-off gas (BOG) reliquefaction unit with a maximum reliquefaction capacity of approximately 0.90 mtpa, and two full-containment, above ground 220,000 m³ LNG storage tanks with loading capabilities.

On February 29, 2024, Sabine Pass filed an Application with the FERC for authorization to site, construct and operate the Sabine Pass Stage 5 Expansion Project. The development of the SPL Expansion Project, and any necessary supporting infrastructure related to natural gas supply and LNG demand, is subject to receipt of all required regulatory approvals and permits, and sufficient commercial and financing arrangements before a final investment decision can be reached.
