Description
Project Roadrunner will convert waste CO2 and renewable power primarily into Infinium eSAF. It will also produce Infinium eNaphtha and Infinium eDiesel.
The Power-to-Liquids eFuels facility is expected to be the largest PtL eFuels project in North America once operational.
It is located in West Texas.
The project will convert an existing brownfield gas-to-liquids project into a fully integrated eFuels facility that will deliver products into both U.S. and international markets.
In November 2023, Infinium and Breakthrough Energy Catalyst announced a $75m project equity investment commitment to support Project Roadrunner, subject to the satisfaction of certain closing conditions. The commitment represents Catalyst’s first equity investment to date.
In September 2024, Brookfield Asset Management announced a commitment to invest more than $200 million in Infinium and Infinium’s Project Roadrunner, in addition to up to $850 million for the deployment of other Infinium eFuels projects globally. The investment comes from the Brookfield Global Transition Fund I.
Also in November 2023, American Airlines and Infinium entered into an offtake agreement for Infinium eSAF.
Infinium has an agreement with a Kinetik’s subsidiary to purchase carbon dioxide captured from Kinetik’s gas gathering and processing system in the Permian Basin for use as a feedstock for its facility.
