Description

Phase 3 of the development of a lifecycle carbon-neutral hydrogen production facility located in Mason County, West Virginia, and part of the broader ARCH2 Hydrogen Hub.

The project consists of four phases with each phase producing over 500 metric tons per day of net-zero carbon hydrogen at an approximate capital cost of $2 billion per phase excluding associated investments in data centers, greenhouses, and similar.

The Mountaineer GigaSystem will implement the proprietary FidelisH2 technology that enables the production of hydrogen with zero lifecycle carbon emissions from a combination of natural gas, renewable energy, and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration. Topsoe and Babcock & Wilcox are the technologies providers for FidelisH2.

The hydrogen will be used for datacenters, greenhouses, transportation, and steel production.

The project might also include carbon capture and sequestration activities.
