Description

A post-combustion carbon capture and compression retrofit unit at Panda’s Sherman natural gas–combined cycle power plant in Sherman, Texas.

The post-combustion capture plant is an amine-based conventional absorber-stripper scrubbing system with a non-proprietary solvent.

The study received DOE funding in 2019. In 2022, the FEED study recommended a pilot testing program.

In June 2023, Rayburn Electric Cooperative acquired ownership of the Panda Sherman Power Plant.
