Description
Fulcrum’sSierra BioFuels Plant used to produce low-carbon synthetic crude oil using landfill waste as a feedstock. The crude oil product could then be refined into sustainable aviation fuel.
The company had secured a USD 20m investment from SK Innovation and a USD 50m investment by SK Inc. bp had invested in Fulcrum in 2016.
In May 2024, as reported by Bloomberg, Fulcrum Bioenergy laid off the majority of its staff and its website stopped working, as the waste-to-jet fuel plant in Nevada shutdown operations.
