Description
A biofuels plant in Bemidji, Minnesota. The plant is expected to use waste wood as feedstock to produce drop-in renewable biofuel.
In 2019, SynSel Energy announced plans to develop a biorefinery in Bemidji, Minnesota on the former site of the Ainsworth Lumber Co. oriented strand board mill.
SynSel will repurpose the same renewable wood feedstock formerly used by the Ainsworth mill to produce 90,000 gallons per day of synthetic biofuels.
The mill permanently closed in 2009.
In 2022, SynSel announced its affiliation with R.J. Zavoral & Sons, Inc., an earthmoving and construction company in Minnesota. Zavoral was an early investor in SynSel and increased its ownership stake in the company.
