Description

A biofuels plant in Frenchtown, Montana.

In 2020, SynSel Energy announced plans to develop a biorefinery in Frenchtown, MT on the former site of the Smurfit Stone pulp mill. The plant will produce 180,000 gallons per day of synthetic biofuels.

The Frenchtown site is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, giving SynSel access to beetle-kill wood for feedstock.

SynSel also plans to repurpose some of the same renewable wood feedstock formerly used by the Smurfit Stone pulp mill.

SynSel’s site Co-Developer of the Frenchtown, Montana site is Green Investment Group.
