Wallula Energy Resource Center

An IGCC power plant. The CO2 would have been sequestered in basalt formations 1.3 miles underground. The project, which was supposed to become operational in 2013, was canceled in 2008 because of trouble obtaining drilling equipment and general delays.  

Heirloom DAC California Facility

A facility that can capture up to 1,000 tons of CO2 per year. The CO2 will be stored in concrete to fulfill commercial removal purchases. The sequestration is executed through a partnership with CarbonCure Technologies.  Buyers of Heirloom’s CO2 removal credits include Microsoft, Stripe, Shopify, and Klarna. Tanners Creek Plant Retrofit

The potential carbon capture retrofit of unit 4 at the Tanners Creek power plant. The project was canceled in 2014 after a feasibility study due to financial concerns. The Tanners Creek Plant was retired in 2015.

Trailblazer Energy Center CCS

The Tenaska Trailblazer Energy Center CCS project received final air quality permits in 2010 and it was set to begin commercial operations in 2014. In June 2013, Tenaska canceled the project.
