A green hydrogen project located on MMEX’s 321-acre site in Pecos County, Texas.
It is expected to cost between $850m – $900m at 2x capacity.
The project utilizes the electrolyzer technology of Siemens Energy, which converts water to hydrogen through electrolysis. The facility uses solar power provided by TotalEnergies, with the company’s water supply to produce up to 55 tons of hydrogen production per day. The solar component is 160 MWe.
Co-located at the site is a blue hydrogen facility.
MMEX’s potential markets would be the major metropolitan areas in Texas.
MMEX and Siemens completed the FEED study in April 2022. As of February 2024, it is talking with international banks to raise debt and equity for the project.
